Jacob Capital Management Inc. (JCM), a principal investor and leader in financial and strategic advisory services for the renewable energy, infrastructure, clean technology, and cannabis sectors, is pleased to announce that its partner, Maritime Launch Services (MLS), has received conditional approval from Nova Scotia’s Environment Department to proceed with construction of a spaceport near Canso, NS.
JCM is an active investor in the Atlantic Canada region, with significant stakes in cannabis, wood pellet, and offshore wind projects being developed in the area, in addition to its partnership with MLS. JCM and MLS are extremely excited to begin construction of Canada’s first commercial spaceport, situated in the best location in North America for launches into sun-synchronous orbit (SSO).
JCM founder Sasha Jacob has been a pioneer in a number of emerging fields in Canada, including renewable energy, licensed cannabis cultivation, and the burgeoning commercial space sector. “This facility is really going to put Canso, Nova Scotia, and Canada on the map in terms of the space industry,” said Jacob, who sees Canada emerging as a potential leader in the space industry.
